Rachel Kice in live action painting performance, circa 2000s. Venue unknown. Photo credit unknownMuzikMafia Days (2001–2009)
The MuzikMafia movement was a historic, genre-bending collective of musicians, songwriters, and artists who turned the traditional Nashville establishment upside down in the 2000s and rose to mainstream consciousness through the multi-platinum selling success of members Big & Rich (Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich) and Gretchen Wilson. As an original member serving as the resident on-stage performance painter, Rachel Kice became the visual heartbeat of the movement, translating the raw sonic energy of arena tours, after parties, and broadcasts into living fine art in real time.
This page is a living, ongoing archive of the live-action canvases, broadcast appearances, and visual history from Rachel’s time as resident visual artist for the Nashville-based MuzikMafia collective. Because history is a work in progress, this digital registry is being built and updated progressively as photos, press clippings, and physical pieces are recovered and documented.
